This is the final design for the front cover of my school magazine.

Contents Page Design of School Magazine

This is the final design of the contents page of my school magazine.

1. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

2. How does your media product represent particular social groups?

Question 3

Bauer Media

Bauer Media is a large German publishing company, founded in 1875, which owns music magazines such as Kerrang! and Q. These two magazines could both be competitors for my product (mainly Kerrang!) as it features similar/the same artists as my magazine would. They are both also issued monthly therefore there would be competition between DISTORT and Kerrang! in which would sell more copies. Kerrang! and my media product are both similar prices: Kerrang! is £2.20 and DISTORT is £2.40.

IP Media

IP Media is a new publishing company, founded in 2008. NME is a magazine in which belongs to it. There would be no other competition for DISTORT with IP Media as NME is a very different type of music magazine to mine. NME is an Indie magazine which is issued weekly. Therefore, I think that IP Media would be the better publishing company for my product as I wouldn't have to compete with another magazine.
